Summit Day, Mera Peak, Nepal

A panorama looking northwards from the summit of Mera Peak.
The summit dome, looking more like a ridge, stretches out in front in the centre of the picture. To the right of this are the high Himalayan summits of Cho Oyu (8201m), the ridge of Nuptse with the highest mountains Everest (8850m) and Lhotse (8516m) standing together and clearly the highest points on the panorama. Further to the right still is Makalu (8463m) in the background, with Chamlang standing in front of it and slightly to the right. Also visible from the summit, but off to the right of this panorama, is Kangchenjunga (8586m). From this one point therefore can be seen five of the six highest mountains in the world, with only K2 (8611m), far away in distant Pakistan, not visible from the summit of Mera.
