Kote to Tangnang, Mera Peak, Nepal
A white-capped redstart perches on a rock in Kote village.
This bird is also known as the river chat, and its Nepalese name is taukechara. It is about 19cm long and lives near fast-moving streams and rivers up to 4900m in the summer. It has a habit of flying from rock to rock and wagging its tail like a fan while it is perched.
