Bearded rhododendron on the path up to Tangnang.
It's easy to see how this dwarf species of rhododendron gets its name. It is a low shrub up to 50cm in height, usually found in open alpine areas between 3000 and 5500m. The flowers are usually a pale yellow, although we visited at the wrong time of year to see any rhododendrons in flower.
