A last view out over Camas Fhionnairigh before entering the clouds.
Our ascent of Bla Bheinn can best be described as Monroe bagging for the sake of Monroe bagging. Once into the cloudline, visibility was never more than a few metres, and we experienced heavy rain throughout, so much so that a summit photo would have been pointless and only have served to ruin my camera (on top of my GPS, which had had the job done on it while descending from Am Basteir a couple of days earlier!) as the rain was lashing down and it was extremely windy. However, there was a clear path all the way up so navigation wasn't a problem. The ascent involved a modicum of scrambling, but nothing too severe, and the only exposure was a short section between the south summit and the main summit, which involved scrambling down a gully and back up a steep scree slope. It was our second Monroe of the week, and few Monroes could have been more pointlessly earned. However, it kept Tony happy as he ticked another one off his list!
