The Hoar Oak Tree, northwest Exmoor.
Records of an oak tree here date back as early as the 13th century. A tree fell down in 1658, and the one planted to replace it in 1916. The present unimpressive specimen is apparently the survivor from a cluster planted in 1917, though from its size I didn't think it could be much more than about 20 years old!
