Welcome to the web tools section of my web site. This comprises an eclectic mix of web applets for a variety of tasks. The tools are free of charge to use.

It is divided into three sections:

Webmaster Tools

Google PageRank Calculator - The PageRank calculator models the behaviour of the PageRank algorithm used by the Google search engine for measuring the importance of pages on the web. The tool is aimed at SEO professionals wishing to find the optimum linking strategy for their web sites in order to rank highly on Google.

Keyword Density Analyser - Another tool aimed at SEO professionals. Cut and paste some text into the box or submit your URL, and the keyword density analyser will count the number of occurrences of each word in the document, and calculate the percentage density of each word with respect to the rest of the document.

Domain Lookup - This tool will search various international domain registration whois databases to give you information on whether a domain name has been registered and, if so, by whom.

Browser Screen Resolution Checker - This tool shows you what your web page looks like at different screen resolutions. Submit your URL, choose from a list of commonly used screen resolutions, and the checker will open the page for you at the selected resolution.

Online Spell Checker - The online spell checker is a simple web based form which will highlight any misspelled words in a block of text you have pasted into it, or from a URL you have submitted, and come up with a list of recommended replacements based on common typing and phonetic errors.

My Workstation Setup - This tool will give you details about the workstation you are browsing the web from through the browser's user agent information. This information includes platform and browser, as well as your IP address.

Factor Generator - The factor generator is a simple mathematical tool which will calculate a list of factors for a given integer.

Weights and Measures

Length Unit Converter - The length converter converts standard imperial units of length to metric and vice versa. Amongst other things it can convert inches to metres, metres to feet, yards to metres and miles to kilometres. You can also use it to calculate your height in feet and inches.

Weight Unit Converter - The weight converter converts standard imperial units of weight to metric and vice versa. Amongst other things it can convert grams to grains, ounces to grams, kilograms to pounds and imperial tons to metric tons. You can also use it to calculate your weight in stones and pounds.

Area Unit Converter - The area converter converts standard imperial units of weight to metric and vice versa. Amongst other things it can convert square inches to square centimetres, square metres to square feet, square kilometres to square miles, and acres to hectares.

Volume and Capacity Unit Converter - The volume and capacity converter converts standard imperial units to metric and vice versa, as well as converting UK and US equivalents. It can convert pints to litres and gills to millilitres, cubic inches to cubic centimetres and cubic feet to cubic metres, and hectolitres to bushels. It can also convert between UK and US bushels, and UK and US gallons.

Pressure and Stress Unit Converter - The pressure and stress converter converts standard imperial units to metric and vice versa. It can convert between kilograms-force per square centimetre, pounds-force per square inch, newtons per square millimetre, bars, kilopascals and UK tons-force per square foot.

Temperature Unit Converter - The temperature converter converts celsius to fahrenheit and vice versa. For good measure it can also give an equivalent in kelvin.

Energy Unit Converter - The energy converter converts standard imperial units to metric and vice versa. It can convert between joules and calories, foot pounds-force, British thermal units, kilowatt hours and therms.

Power Unit Converter - The power converter converts standard imperial units to metric and vice versa. It can convert between kilowatts and UK horsepower, metric horsepower and kilowatts, and foot pounds-force per second and watts.
