St Gabriel's Manor
And celebrating a fruitful day with a glass of wine!
These were happier times. I met Mum at her parents', and my grandparents', house in Cambridge and she drove me back to Camberwell via the IKEA shop near Wembley, north London, in order to buy furniture for the flat. When we couldn't get what we wanted there, she drove me all the way across London to the Croydon IKEA in south London to finish our shopping, and back again. When we got back to my flat she helped me to put all the furniture that we'd bought together. The whole process took all day, and this photograph was taken after we had finished. In the evening I remember taking her to the Bearcat comedy club in Twickenham, which she found hilarious.
